About Me

Andrea Halverson is the Elementary Director at DaVinci Academy of Arts and Science in Minnesota. Her biggest goal while serving as a principal is leading change by making sure her staff feels supported and empowered to make great things happen for students. She believes in visibility and approachability in this work as they serve as the foundation for building strong, trusting relationships with her school community.

Before taking on the principalship, Andrea spent 3 years working as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Kaleidoscope Charter School. In this position, she provided professional development and training for teachers, served as the district assessment and instructional technology coordinators, served as the Q-Comp program liaison, oversaw federal programs, supervised the MN Reading Corps program, and coordinated the new teacher induction program. Before working at KCS, she spent time as a K-12 technology integration specialist.

Prior to her work in technology, she taught elementary and middle school music for nine years. While in the music classroom, she sat on both state and regional boards for music education groups and was a frequent presenter and local, state and regional music education conferences.

Andrea was born and raised in a small town in southern Minnesota. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading enough books to complete her Goodreads book challenge, music, and being outside with her family in the many parks near her home.
